Tuesdays With The Angels-Town of Angels Christmas

It’s in my wonderful editor’s hands!!  Town of Angels Christmas and hopefully she likes my novella and 4th book and final in the Mystic Bay Series!

Yes, I never thought I’d write 4 books about the ficticious  town of Mystic Bay. Readers say they want to live in the town where townsfolk help each other and angels live as humans  guiding their flock as friends or as angels unseen. I too, don’t want to leave the town behind. It’s become healing to write about this town. This book is special because there are themes of the negativity we find in our world, racism, abuse and bullying. But as always the town of Mystic Bay will come together for when I write, the characters always solve the problems and find  true answers.

The Light of Angels

To me, people are inherently good. It’s just that some lose their way. There is  romance of course in this novella, plenty of animals including the rescue of horses. Many loved  characters return. Of course, there is a wonderful Christmas theme to hopefully brighten every readers day. I will wait and see if readers want  a 5th book! Til then, hopefully, Town of Angels Christmas will be out by Christmas 2021!

Tuesdays With The Angels- Love vs Bullying

Bullying happens at some point to all of us either in person or on social media. When very personal unkind questions were posed to me the other day,  I didn’t hesitate. For long ago I realized the gift of love, forgiveness and carrying on.

As I write in my novels and blogs the bully is the ultimate sad character. He or she never wins while only trying to feel superior  by hurting others.

Recently, one of my children told me of a friend who said racist remarks about another. “How sad,” I said. “I’m so happy you have grown up to be a kind loving person.”

The other day I turned a bullying comment away myself by ignoring the intrusive negative comment and moving on to a positive yet vague comment of my own with no personal information given.

Today in our world, I believe there’s a spiritual awakening and only love can mend us all. Loving yourself and others is the only armor anyone needs to counteract any cruelty. The angels have been with me on Tuesdays and everyday all my wonderful grateful life.

Tuesdays With The Angels-Messages about Bullying

During my twilight sleep at night when I can’t discern between falling or dreaming,  I often get messages for my writings. Lately, messages for my books are about bullying. The last book  I wrote, Special Needs Children The Angels On My Shoulder, had a theme about bullying. Are these messages from the angels? I believe so.

The other night one line ran through my head. It wasn’t  a voice, just a sentence….

Find the meaning in your own incredible life

Working with my special students gave me a purpose in life. Helping their self esteem through encouragement and kindness helped me. These kind and vulnerable students changed my world and my belief in my hope for humanity. They thrived on the kindness.

As a child I witnessed bullying and was bullied. I saw my own students and children suffer because of bullying at school.  As I have written before in my mind the bully never wins.. ever. The words that came to me on that night have found a solid place in my heart. Despite cruelty from others we all can find the meaning in the life God has given us.  I know for sure the angels have been on my shoulders for years encouraging kindness. Angels are on the shoulders of all my former students, my family, my friends and all of us who do the best they can each day.

I wonder if the sad bully who enjoys hurting others ever lets the angels’ voiceless words in at night as they drift to slumber…

Tuesdays With The Angels-Special Needs kids and Bullying

I was  asked to write a quote on the effect of bullying on students with special needs.

Students with special needs are most vulnerable to bullying. Parents and professionals must teach the students social skills including self respect and kindness to others. The strongest tool for any of us to use against the bully is through this quiet kindness. Just turn and walk away.

Tuesdays With The Angels-Special Needs Students and Bullying in the workplace

When I first started teaching vocational skills to kids with special needs  I was in awe of their enthusiasm for volunteering so perhaps eventually they could secure a paying job. I was an idealist and still have great expectations of my fellow man. But one of my first attempts to get a student  a volunteer few hours at a book store near our town college didn’t go well.

I always brought the student with me as I looked for placement for volunteering. I always explained to management we were from the high school work program and we would have someone with the student coaching at all times until such time as they could work on their own. The book store would be a great volunteer sight for the student.

I must say I was mortified when the manager said in front of the student,” I don’t want these kind of kids in this store!!” I was taught to be polite and so I turned around and walked out. If my student noticed the disgust in the managers voice I don’t know, however, I never went back to that store in my thirteen years working the job I loved in the work program.

As I wrote my novel Town of Angels I remembered that manager’s  unforgettable bullying. Yet I am happy to report for years many employers were gracious and loved our students. Most students excelled and became productive members of the community .

Where does cruelty come from I wondered as I wrote my novel? Perhaps it comes from the bully’s inferior attitude toward themselves. How sad to think that manager would never know the joy and hope that radiates from these special individuals. The angels not only sent me wonderful students to teach all those years but  taught me something else. They taught me to just walk away from a bully that long ago day.
